Arnie, Seve, and a Fleck of Golf History: Heroes, Underdogs, Courses and Championships (University of Nebraska Press, 2014) is an anthology of my golf writing over the past two decades. There are 30 stories, plus a foreword by Ben Crenshaw and a new epilogue about Tiger Woods, that traverse a century or so of the sport through its major and minor characters, from Harry Vardon to Seve Ballesteros. In 1993 I collaborated with Dr. Richard H. Coop, a pioneer and highly respected sport psychologist who for many years was a professor of educational psychology at the University of North Carolina, on the mental-side instruction book Mind Over Golf: How to Use Your Head to Lower Your Score.
